Luang Prabang - Weather in July

We are planning to go to Luang Prabang %26amp; Vientiane in early/mid July. We are realistic about the weather as we know it is the Wet season and it is not the best time to travel but we were interested in hearing from others who have been in Laos at this time of year to get a better understanding. Is it more likely to be heavy downpours but OK for part of the day or is it rain all day every day? Thanks

Thanks Rufuscat -pretty much what we expected - I guess the plus side is that it won%26#39;t be really busy. If you don%26#39;t mind I have one last question - do the night markets operate when there is rain about?

While downpours are likely most days, they tend to be short. You may be unlucky and have several days of continous rain but short down pours (esp in the evening time) are more likely.

Markets will vary according to the weather each day. The night market actually sells a lot of Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese products and there are plenty of other places open during the day where you can get Lao-made products. Night-market is a great experience though, so definitely pay it a visit if you get the chance.

Night Markets are open even when it rains. The put tarps over the stalls and the goods to keep them dry.
