Itinerary Suggestions

Hi, I am going to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia in June. We will fly into Hanoi and leave from Bangkok 16 days later. I would like to see old Hanoi, Halong Bay, Viettiane, Siam Riep, and any other ';must sees'; you can suggest as well as hit some great gorgeous beaches along the way. I am especially interested in what areas of Laos are most beautiful/interesting that I am not aware of.

I know this is covering a lot of ground in a short time, but I%26#39;m hoping you can give me an idea the best way to do this. How much time should I spend in each place? Are these the best highlights? And what beaches would you suggest in Vietnam or Cambodia? If we are better off going to a beach in Thailand, I%26#39;d be happy to end the trip with four days or so there.

I am traveling with my teens so any suggestions with interesting things for them to do are appreciated.

I loved Hanoi, so spent 6 days there. Most folks stay at least a few days. The food is amazing! I skipped Halong Bay, but most folks do a night or two on a boat there. 2 full days in Vientiane will allow you to get a fair impression of the town. Is that all the time you will be allowing for Laos? (Are you aware that a visa costs $37?) I recommend at least 4 days in Siem Reap with 3 at the temples. Definitely spend a couple of days in Phnom Penh if you can. Charming city, pleasant feel to it, good food! Regarding beaches- definitely pick one in Thailand. Cheers!

I would like to spend another day or two in Laos, where would you recommend we visit?

Well, you should see Luang Prabang. I suggest you fly there from Vientiane to save time.
