I thought from previous posts on various forums that the above site (with a hyphen) was a fake site and that the genuine site was www.laoairlines.com (no %26#39;s%26#39; after lao).
Is it indeed a fake site?

Yes Philip, this is a bogus site. It is run by a French agent and there have been some problems with him.

My issue is that it appears here, at the top of the page on this TA forum, under %26#39;Best Deals for Luang Prabang%26#39;. Presumably these companies can have TA promote them as %26#39;Recommended%26#39; or %26#39;Best%26#39; just by paying for the link listing. Seems like just paying should not be the criteria for being %26#39;Recommended%26#39; or %26#39;Best%26#39;, especially, if the company is not the one (the real Lao Airlines) which people expect to contact when they click on the link. Also, note that the booking agencies listed under %26#39;Best%26#39; and %26#39;Recommended%26#39; are only agencies which only represent the big, high-end and expensive Lao hotels
I totally agree with your post above. It shows that posters should be very careful when taking advice from the internet.There have also been cases on this site where unfavourable reviews have been deleted.
