Hi travellers, im travelling alone from chang mai to Laos hopefully anyday now. Hope 2 visit LP then onto Vang Vieng then to vientane....heard so many good reports about doing the mekong slow trip.
would it be recommended to book all this through a travel agencey or should i do it myself...how had is it to find accomodation once you reach towns???

It%26#39;s a piece o%26#39; cake (and half as expensive!) if you do it on your own. Bus travel between each city is cheap and efficient, and it%26#39;s a great way to see the countryside. The main cities you plan on visiting have a very good tourist infrastructure and you can easily find guesthouses when you arrive.

I%26#39;m thinking of doing the same trip, in Bangkok at the mo but will probably leave for Chang Mai Sunday night. How much is the bus to LP from there?
