Will be landing in Vientiane at 2.20pm. Is there anyway of getting to Vang Vieng the same day?

Yes there is an evening bus. you can book tickets at green discovery which is next door to Kob Jai der - not a bad place to wait and have a few beers while you wait for the pickup to your bus.

Shame on you for not staying in Vientiane for at least a couple of days.

Do you know what the times are for the bus and what time they arrive in VV?

Also with regards your recomendation for the Vansana is it worth paying the extra compared to the elephant crossing that you know of? They look to have similarly amazing views.

Never been to the Elephant crossing, so i can%26#39;t answer that. The Vansana does have a pool though.
