train from Bangkok to Vientiane

Hi fellow tarvellers,

does anybody know if the overnight train from BKK to Vientiane stops in Knong Kai or in Udon Thani?

Planning to fly into BKK on Jan 2nd and then go right away to Vientiane. Thanks!

The train stops in Nong Khai. You then need to take a taxi or tuk tuk to the Friendship Bridge to cross the border.

train from Bangkok to Vientiane

The train also stops in Udon Thani so make sure you get off at the right station!

But how can I take a train from Bangkok to Vientianne ? Do I need to book train tickets in advance ? And where can I do that. Anybody can help me ?
