By boat from thailand to luang prabang

Does anyone have experience of going by boat to Luang Prabang. We will be in Changmai directly before going to Laos and were intending to fly but have been told the boat journey is fascinating.

I did the reverse trip last year from LP to the Thai border at Huay Xai with Asian Oasis.

I can thoroughly recommend the trip, my only regret was not spending more than one night at the lodges en route.More details here:
