LP Guesthouse Recommendation? Riverview

Hello all, I%26#39;m going to be in Luang Prabang late Feb. I%26#39;m looking for advice on a place to stay for a few days. I%26#39;m hoping to find something under $50 and on the river (with a view). It doesn%26#39;t need to be fancy, just clean and convenient. Thoughts?

LP Guesthouse Recommendation? Riverview

We stayed in a (six rooms) little family run guesthouse only 100 yards from the river. The Phongboun Guest house does not have an e-mail address, only a phone number. (856-71) 253940. They have two front rooms that have a small deck which is nice to sit and watch the goings on with a beer. Cost was about $13 a night, private bathroom. Right in the centre of the old city. We enjoyed our stay there very much. Worth a look. There are also lots of guest houses near the post office.

I stayed at Sopha guesthose whch is across from NamKhan old city it was good .Rooms from 15 to 25 $ all with views I had the 25$ room which had air con was large room with fridge %26amp; balcony .Very clean %26amp; really nice people who run it.Oui%26#39;s guesthoue looked great but I did%26#39;nt stay there it%26#39;s also across from NamKhan but at the quiter end on the penninsular. There are so many good ones on Mekong %26amp; NamKhan side, is quieter.I found Senesouk also good but it was not on the river the 40$ room had spectacular views of the monastry, also had balcony aircon fridge.

We just posted a review on the Villa Chitdara. Nice place, more in your price range. ($10-$25 rooms will not usually have breakfast, internet, etc.) Chitdara is just 2 blocks from the Mekong, and the monks go right by the front door.
