Le Jardin Organique Bungalows

Has anyone stayed at Le Jardin Organique Bungalows in Vang Vieng? What did you think of it?

Le Jardin Organique Bungalows

Hi - I stay there often, as my first choice in VV. It is quiet, mice garden setting and right by the river, and whilst it is a 10 minute walk to the main drag of bars restaurants etc, that isn%26#39;t a bad thing. The bungalows have a clean bathroom, hot water, aircon and fan, and a small deck out front. Rates from $13 low season to the $20 I paid 2 weeks ago. Just as nice as some of the other riverside ones that charge $30+

I was pleasantly surprised. Much quieter than the other options in town, but I found Vang Vieng to be a huge disappointment. Spend a night here to break up the journey, and reserve ahead, since Le Jardin Organique is deserving of its popularily, but it is all true what you hear, the sitcom Friends does play on large screens and people watch the reruns over and over. That is not why we travel is it! They will book the mini bus for you and you will be collected.

I made a booking there in December. We confirmed our booking in advance.

When we arrived more than 3 hours before our specified arrival time only to find that they had already given our room away to someone else!

It%26#39;s a fair walk out of town and it took us a long time to get there and back with luggage (as tuk tuks are fairly scarce in Vang Vieng).

Would definitely be wary of booking.

If you book online you shouldn%26#39;t have a problem with them keeping your booking, but like many small guesthouses across Laos, unsecured bookings are not always kept.

We stayed there with our children very recently. It was very nice, with a picturesque little cafe overlooking the river. They did not respond to any emails ( I tried several times) so we rang to book from Vientiane. They only had the aircon room for one night so we were moved to riverside non aircon rooms. It was fine without aircon but these beds were very very hard. Otherwise fabulous. Kids loved the tubing, the scenery is lovely and the friends reruns happening but not a problem (IMHO)
